Who we are

Dennis Koch's journey in agriculture began in 1960 when he was just an eighth-grader, purchasing his first calf for $105 with money he'd saved. That single investment sparked what would become a lifelong passion for raising quality Angus cattle.

Agriculture runs deep in the Koch family lineage. Dennis's great-grandfather, Christian Koch, immigrated from Prussia to the Dakota Territory in 1882, establishing the family's agricultural legacy that spans over 140 years. This rich heritage of farming and ranching has shaped Dennis into the cattleman he is today.

After more than four decades in agriculture, Dennis and his wife Susan founded Koch Angus Farms in Letts, Iowa, in 2010. What started as a dream has grown into an operation featuring over 165 head of registered Angus cattle, with genetics tracing back to some of the strongest bloodlines in the country.

At Koch Angus Farms, Dennis's mission is simple: produce quality Angus cattle with elite Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs). The operation specializes in high-quality bulls and replacement heifers that help other ranchers improve their herds. Every animal raised reflects Dennis's commitment to excellence and his dedication to advancing the Angus breed.

Dennis has built Koch Angus Farms on the foundation of integrity, quality, and a genuine love for what he does. When customers choose Koch Angus, they're not just buying cattle – they're investing in generations of agricultural expertise and a commitment to excellence that began with a young boy and his first $105 calf.
